Shirley Mae King Thomason, 80, of Galax, VA passed away in her home on Friday, May 20, 2016. She was born May 16, 1936 to the late Harry Clinton and Ether Alley King in Carroll County, VA. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lee King and granddaughter, Nicole King. Survivors include, husband of 62 years, Daniel Lee Thomason; daughters, Shannon Paisley & husband, Johnny of Galax, Denise Webb & husband, Greg of Independence, VA, Karen Cox & fiancé, Matthew Largen of Galax, VA; sisters, Joann Campbell & husband, Tommy of Austinville, Pat Austin & husband, Maurice of Austinville, Susan Ward & husband, Michael of Max Meadows; brother, Charles King & wife, Jeanette of Woodlawn; seven grandchildren, Crystal Stafford, Kristy Thompson, Misti Burnette, Joshua Crowder, Ashleigh Burnette, Mark Webb, & Jessica Webb; four great grandchildren, Dezirae Rodrigue, Isaac Thompson, Chandler Perry, & Ava Thompson. A Funeral Service will be held at High Country Services on Sunday, May 22, 2016 beginning at 3pm. Interment will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. Reverend D. G. Fox will be officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 22, 2016 prior to the service from 1pm until 3pm. The care of Mrs. Thomason was entrusted to High Country Services.
