Mrs. Juanita Darnell Church

Mrs. Juanita Darnell Church, age 99 of Piney Creek, NC passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, NC. Mrs. Chruch was born in Ashe County, NC March 13, 1920 to the late Hugh Mont and Effie Jenkins Darnell. She was a retired school teacher and was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Lester Wayne Church, a son Joe Wayne Church, two brothers Joe Darnell and Hugh Darnell, three sisters Rebecca Parks, Magaline Miller and Ona Caudwell. She is survived by her son John Church and wife Brenda of Independence, VA, daughter-in-law Betty Church of Sparta NC, a brother John Luke “J.L.” Darnell of Winston Salem, NC. Four grandchildren; Kenny Church and wife Shelly of West Jefferson, NC., Pam Adkins and husband Jason of Sparta, NC., John Lee Church II and wife Vickie of Galax, VA. and Allen Church and wife Peggy of Piney Creek, NC. Numerous great grandchildren nieces and nehews ; Caregivers Tonya Trivette, Linda Miller and Wilma Medley also survived. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Cranberry Primitive Church Cemetery, Piney Creek, NC beginnning at 4:00 PM with Mike Trivette the family will receive friends from 3:30 until service time at the church.
